What is gogi berry?

The goji berry, also called the wolfberry, is a bright orange-red berry that comes from a shrub that's native to China. In Asia, goji berries have been eaten for generations in the hope of living longer.

Over time, people have used goji berries to try to treat many common health problems like diabetes, high blood pressure, fever, and age-related eye problems. Goji berries, which some brand a “superfood,” are eaten raw, cooked, or dried (like raisins) and are used in herbal teas, juices, wines, and medicines.

Candle Care

Read on to learn quick tips on how to get the most out of your candle!

Burn Time

We highly recommend that you burn your candle for no longer than 4 hours at a time. This will make your candle burn better and last longer.

The first burn is the most important! Allow wax to melt completely to the edges of the container to prevent "tunneling."

Candle tunneling occurs when only a small portion of the wax surrounding the wick melts while the candle is lit. Instead of evenly melting across the wax's surface, it will appear as if the flame is carving out a vertical tunnel in the center the candle, hence the name. This drastically reduces the burn time of your candle.

Wick Trimming

When you receive your candle, trim the wick to 1/4 of an inch. With any candle, it's important to trim the wick after each burn. Always blow the candle out first and wait for it to cool down before trimming the wick. Keeping a well-trimmed wick will avoid it from getting overheated and the flame getting too large and creating smoke.

If you are having difficulties trimming your wooden wick using a wick trimmer, you can use a pair of big nail trimmer. Especially near the end of your jar, you might find this little trick quite useful!

Frosting

As we use 100% natural wax sometimes our candles can have a slight frost over the surface. There is nothing wrong with the wax; frosting is completely natural.

General Safety

  • Never leave your burning candle unattended
  • Only burn on a heat resistant surface. The tins can get warm/hot when the candle is lit
  • A proper candle flame should be still; not flickering or emitting black smoke
  • Keep candles out of reach from children and pets
  • Place in a well ventilated space when lit, making sure there are no drafts
